- The SEBI circular (pdf) requires clients to link their demat account number (BO ID) with their Unique Client Code (UCC) for opening a brokerage account.
- It allows regulators to verify that shares bought and sold by a client are accurately credited and debited.
- The mapping process involves various elements such as:
- UCC, demat account,
- Clearing member ID,
- Trading member ID (broker ID), and
- Account segments, which are integrated into the back-end systems of exchanges (NSE and BSE) and depositories like CDSL.
- CDSL sent an email regarding the mapping of a client's Unique Client Code (UCC) with their demat account number (BO ID), including the trading member ID, clearing member ID, and account segments. Your Jainam Client ID is linked to your demat account, trading/clearing member IDs, and enabled segments.
- If your UCC status changes from Active to Inactive or Closed, the UCC to demat linking is Delinked, which means that the mapping has been removed.
- Affect your trading with Jainam, and CDSL will notify you of any system changes the following day. 'V' means Verified, and 'D' means Delinked.
