The interest payment for long term government securities is always made semi-annually from the date of the issue. for example, if the date of the issue is January 8, 2023 the coupon payments dates will be half yearly (8, July and 8, January) every year until the maturity. The interest payments dates can also be found on the RBI notification page by the title – “Auction for sale (issue/reissue) of government stock.”
