How can shares be moved to Jainam from the other broker?

  • You can transfer your shares to Jainam from other brokers in two ways:
    1. closure cum transfer
    2. offline

Closure cum transfer

  • The closure and transfer process requires you to request the necessary forms from your current broker and submit them with a signed Jainam Client Master Report (CMR).

Examples

  • if Mr. X is the primary holder and Mr. Y is the secondary holder of the current demat account, the same sequence must be followed when transferring shares to their Jainam joint demat account. Mr.X should remain the primary holder, and Mr.Y the secondary holder, not vice versa.
  • Securities can only be transferred between accounts with the same Beneficiary Owner status. i.e, this means they can only be transferred from an individual account to another personal account, not to a joint, NRI, or HUF account, and vice versa. You can find the BO status on the CMR copy.

  • If your securities are currently under a lock-in period, it is not possible to transfer them from CDSL to NSDL or vice versa using the closure cum transfer method.
  • However, you can transfer them within the same depository, such as from CDSL to CDSL or NSDL to NSDL.transfer them within the same depository, such as from CDSL to CDSL or NSDL to NSDL.

Off-market share transfer:

  • To transfer securities from NSDL to the CDSL depository, use inter-depository slips. Your broker should provide both types of slips for a smooth transfer.
  • Transfer between any BO status is effortless, including individual to individual, individual to joint, NRI, and HUF accounts.
