When can the funds be withdrawn if the shares are sold or positions are closed today?

When can the funds be withdrawn if the shares are sold or positions are closed today?

  • The proceeds from shares sold or position exited today are available for withdrawal only if the trades are settled.
  • As per Indian exchanges, trades are settled on T+1 days, here T means trading day.
  • Thus, the funds can be withdrawn from trading account if they are available in withdrawable balance. So, here funds are available after T+1 days.

    FOR EXAMPLE:
  • If client has sold the stock or F&O position are closed on Monday, then funds are available for withdrawal from Tuesday evening.
  • If the shares are sold from the holdings or the F&O positions are closed on Friday, the proceeds can be withdrawn on Monday evening.
